So I'm sitting here with nothing better to do than watch the
Vice-Presidential debates. So far watching this debate and the
Presidential debate from last week I just have one question. Why is it
that political candidates can't just answer the question? Neither of
the candidates has really answered any of the questions directly.

It's that time again. The time when the ad campaigns for and against
various political candidates start running. So far all I've seen out
there is the ad campaign against current President Bush. The ad
basically is built on the premise that Pres. Bush is not a "leader" but
rather a "mis-leader". Their whole point is the fact that he has
submitted proposals to spend another several billion dollars in Iraq,
when there are supposedly more pressing issues that the money could be
spent on here in the US.
On the one hand I would almost bring myself to agree with at least part
of their theory. There are things that the money could be spent on here
in the USA. However I would have to disagree with the main idea behind
their ad. Questioning why we should spend the money to help rebuild
Iraq. I guess they just don't get it. Some people were apparently never
taught to follow through by their parents.

Well last week's rant started out as a general rambling, but I ended up concentrating mostly on Spam. It's not really the direction that I intended to take with the Rant, but it worked out in the end. Overall what probably led to that is combating spam, and keeping our email system at work up and going is pretty much what my time has been consumed with the last month or so. Hopefully that can ease up some in the near future.
In any case that was all last week's news. The other major focus in my life lately has been my children. Andrew is in a stage where he is having to test his boundaries all over again, just to make sure they are still there. It hasn't been much fun for us around the Haase house lately. I'm sure we'll make it through it eventually. I'm not really looking forward to Abby reaching that stage. She's going to be a completely different personallity than what Drew was.

Yes, that's right after doing the absolute best job of breaking a new
year's resolution I've ever seen, I'm finally getting a chance to come
back and whip out a new rant. I know it's been some time since I've
gotten one on here. In fact I've only done about three all year long.
About the only excuse I can offer is that I just haven't done them.
There have been a few opportunities when I would have had the time to
get it done, and I just didn't do it. In any case I don't know that
even this rant will be much of a coherent stick to one subject kind of
rant as much as just a series of ramblings, but on with the rant.

I've already posted this on the message boards,
but I know there a lot of people who only visit the front page of the
site, so I thought I'd post it here as well. It's not really a rant,
nor is it mine, but it sums up pretty well my feelings on the war in
Iraq.
